Brass Sheet for Flossing / Cleaning Fountain Pens

These brass sheets can be used to floss in between the tines of the nib to clear debris and ensure good ink flow.  These sheets can also be used to run along the chanel of the ink feed to clear out debris and improve ink flow through the feed.
 
To floss the nib, take the corner of the sheet work it into the slit of the nib.  Run the sheet all the way down the slit to the nib point and start over again.  This will help clean dried ink and paper fibers from the slit of the nib and improve ink flow.  Using this on nibs with a coating may scratch or damage the coating.  This is best used on steel nibs without any type of coating.
 
To clean the feed, simply run the sheet up and down the ink feed chanel on the top of the feed to clear out any debris that may prevent ink from flowing.  This is a good way to ensure you get all of the shimmer out of the feed after using a shimmer ink.
 
Once the corner of the sheet has been used and begins to weaken, simply cut the corner off so you have fresh corners of brass to work with.
 
If your pen is under warranty, we do not recommend using this product on it.  Using any type of maintanance tools may void the warranty.  This product is best used on inexpensive pens that do not have active warranties.
 
This item will be shipped via the USPS First Class or you can upgrade the shipping to priority mail for an additional charge. If the weight of your order exceeds the maximum for first class, the package will be shipped priority.
