As magical as Christmas can be, even Santa encounters some challenges when it comes to choosing the right tool for the job. Let me take you on a journey through the ups and downs of various pens I've tried, and reveal which timeless writing instrument my heart settles on.
The Quill Pen: A Feathered Dilemma
Initially, I toyed with the idea of using a classic quill pen, envisioning myself scribbling away in old-world charm. However, I soon discovered that Mrs. Claus has a strong allergy to goose feathers, making this elegant choice quite impractical for our cozy North Pole abode.
Glass Dip Pen: Frosty Frustrations
My next attempt led me to the delicate beauty of a glass dip pen. The transparency and elegance of this pen were captivating, but alas, the frigid temperatures of the North Pole caused it to chill my fingers to the bone. Brrr! A frosty reception indeed for this pen.
Metal Nib Dip Pen: The Quick Transition
After braving through cold fingers and feather allergies, I decided to try a metal nib dip pen. This pen proved to be very easy to use. I quickly found that my favorite nib was a broad nib, and that I could quickly transition between inks for the names on the "nice" and "naughty" lists.
Fountain Pen: Elaborate Elegance
I must admit my curiosity led me to experiment with a fountain pen—a pen of refined elegance. However, the writing was smooth and it saved me from dipping in between names, however, I could only use one ink color (or face using multiple pens). The cleaning process was also a bit too time-consuming for a busy Santa like myself.

The ballpoint pen, a modern marvel, caught my attention with its practicality and convenience. Yet, I couldn't escape the fact that its ink lacked the festive flair that Christmas demands. It’s a reliable tool, but it lacked the spirit of the season.

In the digital age, I couldn't resist trying out a digital pen on electronic paper. Oh, but the woes of accidentally erasing my list multiple times were enough to make the elves dizzy with frustration! This modern gadget, while intriguing, seemed to have a mischievous mind of its own.
