What is a flex nib and how does it work?

A flex nib is a type of fountain pen nib that allows for line variation based on the amount of pressure applied while writing. When you apply more pressure, the tines of the nib spread apart, creating broader lines. When you apply less pressure, the tines come closer together, producing finer lines. This ability to vary line width makes flex nibs ideal for expressive and dynamic writing, as well as for calligraphy.
