How do I store fountain pen ink bottles properly?

Proper storage is key to maintaining the quality of your fountain pen inks over time. Follow these steps to ensure your inks remain fresh:

Keep bottles tightly closed: Always seal the cap completely to prevent evaporation and contamination.

Store upright in a cool, dark, and dry place: Avoid exposing ink bottles to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as UV light and heat can alter the ink’s chemical composition.

Use glass bottles when possible: Glass is less porous than plastic, which helps prevent the gradual loss of water through evaporation.

Consider long-term storage methods: For extensive collections, storing ink bottles in their original cardboard packaging or an airtight container can provide extra protection. By adhering to these guidelines, you can significantly prolong the shelf life and vibrancy of your inks, ensuring they remain ready for use when you need them.
