How do I heat and prepare the wax for sealing?

Bortoletti sealing wax is designed for ease of use with our dedicated melting equipment:

Melting Process: Use a Bortoletti glass wax heater or an alcohol stove (we recommend using 90% pure alcohol) to melt your wax. Place a wax stick or bead from our Bortoletti collection in a proper melting spoon or directly over the heater’s flame.

Temperature Control: It’s crucial to heat the wax just enough so that it drips smoothly without overheating. Overheated wax might burn or lose its color, while insufficient heat can make it too thick and hard to stamp.

Technique: Once the wax has melted to a consistent, runny state, carefully pour or drip it onto your chosen stationery. Waiting a few seconds for the wax to begin cooling (but still remain fluid) before applying the seal ensures a clean impression.

Following these steps using Bortoletti products results in crisp, impeccable wax seals every time.
