Once upon a time, the paper Verge was made by hand in huge vats. Today, G. Lalo makes the same paper according to traditional methods but with modern techniques. Verge refers to the grid of parallel translucent lines (vergeures) that was formed in handmade paper as the sheets were laid to dry (the origin of the term "laid finish.")These grids are very helpful as guides for handwriting.
Each 100g laid finish card watermarked tablet is a classic and a favorite for letter writing.

Dan's customer service is always exemplary. He caught my accidentally double ordering 3 inks and asked me if I really wanted the duplicates. The paper is beautiful -- a heavy laid -- and I love all 3 inks, especially Sheen Machine 2. Arrived promptly, as always, and just as described. I will re-buy all products when I get low.
