J. Herbin Inks - Anniversary / Specialty / Shimmer Inks

J. Herbin inks are made in Paris France.

The 1798 and 1670 inks are shimmer inks and come in a 50ml bottle. These inks require more maintanance than most normal fountain pen inks. We recommend you clean and flush your fountain pen every couple of weeks to ensure the ink flows properly to the tip of the nib. Prior to filling your fountian pen with this ink, shake the bottle well to get the gold or silver flecks suspended in the ink.

Shogun ink: This ink was created to pay homage to Kenzo Takada who passed away as his partnership with J. Herbin was just getting started. Takada was recognized as one of the most famous creators and designers of his time. The Herbin Shogun ink by Kenzo Takada twilight colored ink, reminiscent of a beautiful night of stars, is coated with fine red and gold shimmer. The resulting hue is reminiscent of certain armors from the Shogun era, for which Takada held a fine appreciation.

J. Herbin was established in 1670 in Paris. These inks were used by Napoleon Bonaparte and by his son, the King of Rome. During the 19th century, Herbin participated in many great international exhibitions including the London exhibit in 1823 where he was given an award for the exceptional quality of his inks and waxes.
