We have partnered with Robert Oster to bring our customers one of the best fountain pen ink brands available. Oster inks are known for their colors and smooth writing in fountain pens. Robert Oster has been making inks since the late 1900's and the inks are made in Australia.
The bottles are 50ml. Robert Oster built has built this business around the product (the ink), and not fancy bottles. He does not use glass bottles, but instead uses plastic bottles which have been recycled from waste. When you purchase a bottle of Oster Ink, you will only receive the bottle and not an extra box the bottle goes in (unlike most other ink brands).
The Ink
Robert Oster has mastered the art of making fountain pen inks and unique colors. There are two types of inks. At this time we carry 33 of the regular fountain pen inks and 7 of the Shake N Shimmy inks which are shimmer inks. All of these inks are non-toxic and eco-friendly. The shimmer inks do not use plastic or metallic materials, but instead it contains a mica powder which is naturally occurring in the environment.
Shake N Shimmy Inks
These bottles of ink must be shaken well prior to drawing ink out of them. When the ink is in the pen, it helps to invert the pen several times prior to writing so the ink mixes prior to writing. The wider the nib and better quality of paper you use with these inks will make the pearlescent look come out more. As with all shimmer type inks, these inks require the fountain pen to be cleaned more often to ensure good ink flow.
